Working Well with Others

How well do you work with others?

A couple weeks ago, I attended a networking event in New York City. The whole weekend was a group of people working together to compile a memorable time for everyone.  My good friend Don Yaeger and his wife, Jeanette, were the two main cogs and I would like to thank them for their hard work.  We also were able to see West Point and be escorted around by Colonel Bernie Banks.  I could not have been more impressed.  In the spirit of teamwork and coming together for a common goal, this #CJJblog will give you some tips on how to be a productive member of a team.  Enjoy.

  • Giving mindset. Always ask others how can I help you? This will create a mindset for yourself to look to help others before thinking of your own needs. Pride yourself on being a resource to others.
  • Accept your role. Accept what is expected of you and excel at it. Become a valuable asset to your team through means of what is best for the team. Every team has its stars and those who play less notable roles, but all remain equally important on the road toward success. Do you accept your role for the betterment of the team?
  • Respect others. Show others the respect they deserve. As mentioned above, one of the main reasons why I had such a phenomenal time at West Point was the respect that was shown during our tour by Colonel Bernie Banks. Are you respectful toward others at all times?

I hope everyone had a terrific Mother’s Day and enjoying the spring-like weather. As I travel around for my professional speaking career, please let me know how you are improving yourself and, as always, let me know how I can help you!  Have a great week, everyone!

Life Tip #6: Greet people with a firm handshake, eye contact, and a smile
