Do you have goals for 2025?
With 2025 upon us, most of us have set goals for ourselves that we wish to achieve this year. Do you want to lose 20 lbs? Are you looking to change careers? Be more present at home with the family? While those goals – big or small – are still fresh in our minds, I wanted to help support you with the #CJJblog post this week. I give you nine keys to improve your goal setting and execution. Enjoy!
- Be specific. Make sure your goals are measurable, actionable, and time-oriented.
- In writing. A goal in your head is not a goal, it’s a thought. When you think it, ink it. Are your goals written down for you to see every day?
- Goal cards. Write your goals down on index cards and read them aloud each day when you wake up and before bed. Make them simple and concise. A 5th grader should be able to understand them.
- Goals Journal. Do you have a journal to chronicle your goal journey? To start, write out your top 5 goals for the year.
- Variety. Make sure your goals cover various aspects of your life, both personal and professional.
- Keystone habits. Make sure you are adopting new habits and focuses to help you execute. Block off time to work toward your goals and make sure you are getting enough rest.
- Consistency. Are you staying consistent with your progress? Choose one action you do every day that will help build repetition and constant progress.
- Accountability. What should you do to hold yourself accountable and increase your chances of achieving your goals? 1) Hire a coach, 2) Find an accountability partner, 3) Join a mastermind group.
- Progress. You will likely be unable to accomplish your goal in a single day. You make progress each day by: 1)Assess each day on a scale from 1-10 in different categories, 2) Hold weekly accountability calls with your partner, and 3) Reassess your progress every 90 days.
