Book Review: 6 Types of Working Genius

What are your thoughts on the last book you read?

As many of you know, I am an avid reader – usually a book per week.  Most are on leadership and personal development, because those are my passions.  Have you read any good books lately that changed your life?  In the #CJJblog this week, I give you my review on my most recent read, 6 Types of Working Genius by Patrick Lencioni.  Make sure to take the assessment at the end to identify your strengths and weaknesses!

  • Wonder.  This is the ability to ponder, question, and speculate in a way that promotes answers and actions.  Do you have wonder, or are you just a complainer?
  • Invention.  This is someone who can frequently think of solutions and ideas.  They are someone who is drawn toward originality and creativity.
  • Discernment.  How are your instincts?  Do you have good judgment?  High qualities of discernment means your gut feelings are usually on point.
  • Galvanizing.  Are you someone who is consistently sought out by others for advice?  Can you rally the troops with the best of ‘em?  If you are high in this working genius, you have the ability to get others to take action and follow your lead.
  • Enablement.  Do you help without expectation?  This is a person who can naturally support and assist others without conditions or restrictions.
  • Tenacity.  Do you have a lot of unfinished projects?  Or, are you someone who can see things through to the end?  Tenacity is nothing more than your determination to achieve your personal goals.  Do you have it?
  • My results:  I took the assessment and here are my results: Working Genius: Tenacity and Enablement – Working Competence: Galvanizing and Discernment – Working Frustration: Wonder and Invention.
