How do you unify your team?
Have you ever heard the term “you can’t herd cats”? It is a popular term used to illustrate how difficult it is to unify people or things that think for themselves. Is your team unified or self-centered? In the #CJJblog this week, I give you some tips on how you can unify your teams and herd them to success. Enjoy.
- Team mission. Is your team bought in? Is your team mission crystal clear? Make sure your team knows exactly what is expected of them and that you are the role model for this mission.
- Synergizing. How often do you get feedback from your team? How often do you listen to feedback from your team? Make sure to meet individually with your team members and sync both team and individual goals as best you can.
- Core values. Are your core values clear to your team members? How often do you remind and share these values with your team? Have the tough conversations with your team and compliment those who deserve it in public.
- Communication. How clear is your communication? Do you speak a common language with your team? Are you the CQA (Chief Question Asker)? Make sure everyone understands the team language and is on the same page.
- People first. Are you a good relationship builder? The best way to do this is to serve others and offer advice when necessary.
- Develop framework. All good teams have an operating framework. They are clear about the boundaries and rules within their organization and empower each other to be successful.
