Are you a great teammate?
Being a great teammate is something that takes time. It’s not overnight that you learn how to properly interact with and support those around you. You need to work at it consistently, welcome feedback, and make adjustments along the way. In the #CJJblog this week, I give you ten tips on how you can become a great teammate. Enjoy.
- Integrity. Are you someone with high integrity? Are you consistently doing the right thing when nobody is watching? Be a person with high integrity at all times.
- Attitude. One of the two controllables. Is yours contagious? Or toxic. Be a positive influence on those around you.
- Work ethic. The other controllable. Are you a hard worker? Or a coaster? Make sure your work ethic is second to none, your teammates will notice.
- Problems. When it comes to problems, be a solver and not a creator. Your teammates will feed off your determination.
- Team first. Are you a we > me type teammate? Or looking out for only yourself?
- Role model. Be the example your teammates need to see. How you consistently handle adversity will rub off on others.
- Body language. Your actions and body language sends messages to your teammates. What messages are you sending?
- Builder. Are you a builder or a blocker? Do you help or hinder those around you? Be a builder.
- Supporter. Do you abide by the team mission and values consistently? Learn them and live them.
- Perseverance. Do you give up at the first sign of adversity? Having persistence and that never give up attitude will earn the respect of teammates (just like J-Mac).
