Are your dreams coming true?
Did you watch any of the tennis French Open over the last few weeks? One story really caught my eye and it was not the Alcaraz-Sinner instant classic in the Men’s Championship round. It was on the women’s side and the magical run Lois Boisson went on to advance to the semifinals. Ranked number 365th in the world going into the tournament, she made her dreams come true by advancing unimaginably far in the tournament, defeating (3) Jessica Pegula and (6) Mirra Andreeva along the way. In the #CJJblog this week, I use Boisson’s unexpected success as motivation to give you some insights into my “How to Make Your Dreams Come True” keynote. How are you working toward making your dreams come true?
- Passion. Find it. Make it your obsession and become an expert. If you love what you do, you will put in the work to become great.
- Clarity. What is your mission? What is your why? Do you have a Personal Mission Statement? Why were you put on this earth? Make sure to figure out your top three core values and put them in writing.
- Goals. Write them down. A lot. When you think it, ink it. Write out your daily commitments and hold yourself accountable.
- Perseverance. Adopt the “Never give up” mindset and become mentally tough. Do this by making a point to do something hard every month (then once per week, and eventually once per day).
- Carpe Diem. Only focus on the things you can control (effort and attitude). Your positivity needs to be through the roof. Adopt the “one more” mindset.
- Team player. Are you surrounded by the right people? Are you ready to receive feedback? Always give first with no expectation of anything in return.
