Can you believe it has been 25 years?
For those of us who were alive on September 11th, 2001, you remember where you were when you heard the news. It is extremely hard to believe it has been 25 years since that horrific day in American history. But, a lot has changed since then. In the #CJJblog I want to reflect on 9/11 and give you some life lessons we learned, as well as how you can overcome the challenges life throws at you. We are all in this together. Enjoy.
- Life Lessons
- Support. In times of great distress, who steps up? Who acts so selflessly that it becomes miraculous? While tragic and unimaginable, 9/11 also showed us what stepping up and supporting others looks like.
- Unity. After shock and grief, we became an incredibly united country. We are one.
- Life is short. Do not take life for granted. Things can change fast.
- Together. We are at our best when we work together. We can accomplish amazing things if we work as a team.
- Adversity. When things get bad, how can we quickly solve the problem and get better every day?
- Recovery. How quickly do we bounce back? Be grateful to live in the greatest country in the world.
- Life Challenges
- Servant mindset. Adopt it and implement it. How often do you seek to help others first?
- Meaning. Find a cause bigger than yourself and support it with your Three T’s: Time, talent, and treasure.
- Kindness. Simple kindness goes a long way. Do you hold the door for others? Do you tell others how much you love and appreciate them?
- Gratitude. Do others know you appreciate them? Your daily actions should include: 1) Telling others you appreciate them, 2) Write down notes of appreciation, 3) Write in your Gratitude Journal.
- Respect. Do you treat everyone with respect? Find ways to work together, even when we don’t agree on something.
