How can you add (or delete) a habit?

Do you have any habits you wish you could change?

The habits you develop have a huge impact on your life.  Are you someone who can cut a bad habit without much effort?  Or do you struggle to make changes in your life, even though you are aware of their impact?  In the #CJJblog this week, I give you some habit tips.  Adding the good ones and deleting the ones that need to go.  Enjoy.

  • Non-Negotiables.  What are your non-negotiables?  Things that are top priority for you each day?  Life does happen, so a good rule of thumb is to never miss one two days in a row.  For me, I have five: 1) Exercise for 30 minutes, 2) Pray, 3) Meditate, 4) Write in my Gratitude Journal, and 5) Read my goals aloud to myself in the mirror.
  • Enhance your life.  What habits are improving your life?  Try and focus on things that are challenging, but beneficial.  For example, healthy eating, growth activities, exercise, and reading are all good activities that will enhance your life.
  • Process.  Have steps in place for developing these habits: 1) Define your goals, 2) Write them down (where you can see them everyday), 3) Block off time to work on them, and 4) Find a coach or mentor to hold you accountable.
