Staying Committed to your Fresh Start

How is your “Fresh Start” to the New Year coming along?

As we are nearing the conclusion of the first month of 2016 and in the spirit of fresh starts, it might be a good time to take a look back to where you were about a month ago.  The end of 2015 and the new you 2016.  What were you excited about?  What sort of changes were you planning on making?  Are you sticking to the plan you put into place to improve your life?  I, like many others, needed a little boost and some strategizing to help stay on track.  Here are some tips I put together to help you stay committed to your fresh start:

  • Develop consistencies. Whether it’s a silly ritual you have every morning, or a set time that you eat lunch every day, it’s important to have some consistencies throughout your day-to-day life. It helps you develop positive thoughts about your progression and allows you to get into a routine that you feel you cannot break. What consistencies do you have in place throughout your day?
  • Take care of yourself. While it’s important to eat right and exercise, make sure your mind is in a good place as well. Focus more on what you have accomplished and less on what you need to accomplish. This will help build up your confidence to where it needs to be to continue pushing forward. Also, make sure you keep promises to yourself. Treat your time to exercise as an appointment that you cannot miss. How are you taking care of yourself?
  • Seek motivation. It’s a near impossible task to take on these life improvements by yourself. Seeking motivation from outside sources can help immensely. Other people/experts, audiobooks, and videos are all great options. What motivates you?

The basketball season is going very well and I am extremely proud of our team and how they have continued to stay the path we laid out at the beginning of the year. We are getting ready for the big night on February 11th as we are having the 10-year anniversary of the J-Mac game.  It will be a great event and I hope to see you all there!  Have a great day and, as always, let me know how I can help.
