Making Life a Study (Part 1)

How are you making your life a study?

In life, we study many things. Sports, finance, public speaking, sales strategies, business, and the list goes on.  Sometimes, we forget to take a step back and study our lives as a whole.  When you wake up each morning, do you pick up the newspaper to read about yesterday’s news, or do you listen to podcasts on self-development?  I have come up with a few tips to help make your life an everyday study.

  • Personal growth plan. Read something every day to grow your mind on a consistent basis. Create disciplines for yourself to follow and make sure you stick to them. I like to think of my car as a library with wheels. Avoid listening to “filler” music and grow our mind while you drive. It’s a two-for-one activity that will soon show tremendous benefits. What does your personal growth plan look like?
  • Personal wellness plan. As opposed to thinking and wanting to exercise, make it an appointment with yourself. An appointment that you cannot miss. Create eating habits for yourself, not just temporary diets. Get eight hours of sleep each night and make sure that you are in a good mindset when you go to bed.

With the NBA playoffs done, basketball is done for awhile. However, the NBA draft is this week (Thursday) and I will be very intrigued to see where all the phenomenal collegiate and international athletes will end up. Make sure you let me know how you are making your life a study in the comments below.  Have a great week, everyone!

Life Tip #101: There’s a space between stimulus and response.  Choose to be proactive, not reactive.
